2nd Day and a Give-A-Way!!!

Yay!  I've made it one day without shopping for clothes!!!  That was a piece of cake:)  I can honestly say, I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders now that I know that shopping for myself isn't an option for the next 364 days.  I need to install some sort of countdown ticker on my blog.

This morning my sweet, sweet husband, Jason, went to Wal-Mart to purchase a sd card for his camera so we could take better pictures for the blog.  He is such a great guy!  We have been packing all day and normally I wouldn't wear anything besides yoga pants and a t-shirt for such a task, but since I am now doing a daily outfit blog, I am kind of forced to wear real clothes from now on (well, at least long enough to take a picture).

This morning I got up, and in keeping with my polka dot theme for the week, I decided to wear my 'dalmation' sweater and hot pink shorts.  Between packing boxes, and while we had good light outside, Jason and I accomplished today's pictures.  I am still very swollen from my surgery so full length pictures just look awful, sorry!

My dog Rosie wanted to get in on the picture taking fun!

So here it is.  I am wearing a lightweight cream sweater with black polka dots, hence the term 'dalmation' sweater.  I purchased this Merona brand sweater this season at Target.  It was $19.99.  I love it because the dots on the sleeves are smaller than the dots on the rest of the sweater.  The shorts were another purchase from the Gap outlet, and cost $14.99.

Brights shorts and shorts with patterns are super trendy right now.  Check out what shorts Gap is currently selling by clicking here.  Neon is also very trendy right now, but I am afraid the trend (like all trends) will fizzle very quickly.  Neon is a hard color to pull off for most people.  I like these shorts because they are bright pink, but NOT neon pink.  I will totally be rocking these shorts for years to come!

As far as this sweater goes, you'll be seeing it A LOT during my 365 challenge.  It is a staple in my wardrobe.  I consider it a classic piece.  It is classic for me because it has 3/4 length sleeves (love!), it is cream with black polka dots (classic polka dot color combo!) and because it is a basic sweater cut.

Do you love polka dots?  If you follow the blog and leave a comment below, you will be entered into a $25 ModCloth gift card giveaway.  Now, you can purchase anything you want at ModCloth if you win, but check out all the polka dotted happiness they have here.  You have until tomorrow (May 14th) at 4pm to enter.

Happy Shopping,
Christin

Christin! Getting your blog on. Yay. Where do I find day number 1? I'd like to know exactly what you're doing.

Love the polka dots! Maybe with your blog I will get inspired to go beyond my normal "matchy, matchy" process. :)

I love Polk-a-dots! And I actually love the neon trend. I've found that though I can't do allover neon, if I just pick something small...like neon colored bracelets and a belt...or a top that has neon as an accent color I can make it work for me! ;) You look great.
